It was a proud day for Moto in the Community (MITC) on Wednesday (February 8th) when Chairman Brian Larkin handed over a cheque for £400,000 to Help for Heroes. The cheque for Moto’s fundraising efforts in 2016 brings the grand total since Help for Heroes was adopted as the Trust’s national charity partner in 2012 to an enormous £1.5 million.
Help for Heroes provides direct, practical support for wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their loved ones. CEO Melanie Waters, attended Moto’s annual conference to collect the cheque and mark the extraordinary effort by Moto’s staff and customers over the last four years.
Brian Larkin, Chair of the MICT Trustees, said: “It is an absolute honour to present another fantastic sum of money to a charity that makes such a difference to people’s lives. But we couldn’t have reached this magnificent milestone without the efforts of our staff and generosity of our customers and suppliers who have really taken Help for Heroes to their hearts.”
MICT was launched 11 years ago with the aim of making a difference to the communities around Moto Hospitality’s national network of service areas. In addition to fundraising for Help for Heroes, MICT also supports 52 schools and 45 local community organisations across the UK.
