Positive planet

Our planet journey is dedicated to minimising the environmental impact of our sites and operations. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint through energy reduction, shifting to renewables and conserving resources. We are working towards environmental best practices across all areas of our business through a number of energy initiatives. From these energy efficiency initiatives, clean energy generation and responsible sourcing, we strive to ensure that every aspect of our operations contributes to a more sustainable planet.

Leading The Charge

As part of our commitment to a sustainable future, we are proud to lead the charge in providing extensive EV charging facilities across our network. By supporting the transition to electric vehicles, we help reduce carbon emissions and promote cleaner transportation options for our customers. With convenient, reliable charging stations, we’re making it easier for everyone to embrace a greener way to travel. Our Superhubs are strategically placed across the motorway network: so far they’re at over 40 of our sites with plans for even more expansion works planned to increase charging bay availability. Moto Exeter is one of the largest HPC Superhubs in the UK with 56 high powered charging bays available but in total, Moto over 700 high powered charging bays and counting.

Generating Clean Energy

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we will be harnessing the power of the sun through our approved solar farm at Wetherby to generate clean, renewable energy. This initiative reduces our reliance on fossil fuels, lowers our carbon footprint, and contributes to a greener, more sustainable energy future. By investing in solar energy, we are taking proactive steps to power our operations responsibly and help expand our EV charging capabilities for future generations. In 2024, we will have committed to installing roof mounted solar panels at a further 14 sites.

Minimising Resources

Our energy investments are a key part of our commitment to reducing environmental impact and driving sustainability. By prioritising energy strategies and targets to improve our energy efficiencies on site, we will be able to reduce consumption of water and energy, reduce waste and take meaningful steps to minimise our carbon footprint. These will investments not only power our operations more sustainably but also help us contribute to a cleaner, more energy-efficient future for the communities we serve.
