Whether you’re vegetarian or eating less meat, there are lots of ways to make sure your in-car snacks are meat-free…but still fun! Here are some of our favourites – you can even grab some of them whilst you’re on the go!
Vegan Sausage Roll from Greggs
All the same great flavour you’ve come to expect from a famous Greggs sausage roll, but now sans-meat! 96 layers of light, crispy, yummy puff pastry wrap around a soft, warm Quorn filling to create an undeniable top tier snack. Well worth pulling over for! (PS. if you’re craving one now – you can find one here!)
Popchips!
Like crisps…but healthier! Low-fat and in a variety of flavours, they’re all the crunch and taste you need, but they’re popped, not fried or baked. Whilst they’re not perfect (they’re heavily processed) they’re often lower calories per pack than their crispy counterparts. Most high street food stores stock them, and you can find them at Moto sites at WHSmith and M&S Simply Food. What’s your favourite flavour?
Fruit
Full of flavour, full of vitamins and fresh fresh fresh! Whether you prefer your fruit loose, in pots, or in a smoothie, M&S and WHSmith will have something you can grab and go with. We’d advise picking this up mid-journey though, especially in the summer months. Hot cars and fresh fruit don’t mix!
Graze boxes
The original snack subscription services, Graze boxes are the handily wrapped, perfect sized snack pots you can take on the move with you. No longer just a subscription service, you can pick up individual Graze snack boxes from WHSmith at Moto sites. From protein bites to nuts and seeds, there’s something for everyone. We love the veggie protein power collection – mostly because they come supersized – we’re yet to dig into a flavour we haven’t loved!
Cookies!
Because going meat-free doesn’t mean going treat free, there’s always room for a cookie (or 3!). We get ours from Greggs, because they’re soft and yummy, but now with less sugar than ever – and it means we can sneak in a vegan Sausage roll whilst we’re there! They’ve already reduced their sugar content by 12%, and are aiming for a 20% reduction by the end of 2020!
