The Woodland Trust recently received a donation of £100,000 bringing MITC’s support of the charity to £300,000 in just three years.

The donation which comes directly from Moto Hospitality’s carrier bag income will be used to support the conservation charity’s key aim of creating new native woods across the UK and to help protect more than 1000 woods in the charity’s care across the UK. It will also go towards helping the trust with its ambitious treescape projects.

Karl Mitchell Director of Fundraising at the Woodland Trust said:

“Moto in the Community’s generous support helps us to protect and plant trees across the UK. Whether it’s safeguarding precious wildlife habitat or planting new trees that will absorb carbon emissions, Moto’s donation makes a real difference to our environment.”

Several Moto sites have worked with The Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity to increase their number of trees. Earlier this year the Doncaster site planted new trees and there are further plantings due at both at Stafford and Leigh Delamere.
