Moto in the Community (MITC) is the charitable arm of Moto. A wide range of fundraising enables MITC to help a variety of causes across the country; from large national charities to community partners who benefit from smaller grants and a growing family of adopted schools.

Since 2012, our national charity partner has been Help for Heroes (H4H), who provide support to veterans with injuries, illnesses and wounds sustained while serving in the British Armed Forces. Sponsored cycles, charity stalls and raffles in aid of H4H are a regular sight at Moto service stations and to date, we have donated over £2million to this worthwhile cause.

Working to benefit the communities in which Moto operates, each Moto site chooses their own local community partner and a school in their area to adopt. Community partners can advertise information about their organisation on-site and also apply for help from the MITC grant scheme. The scheme provides financial grants of, on average of £1000 to help specific projects that benefit the local community.

As well as being able to access the grant scheme, MITC’s adopted schools benefit from our Books for Schools programme, which has been running since 2006. Working with our partner Oxford University Press, we’ve pledged over 130,000 books into our adopted schools’ network providing valuable resources for literacy schemes and school libraries. 

Carrier bag income from Moto Hospitality has also enabled MITC to make sizeable donations to two environmental charities. The Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity and The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) have both received funding for environmental projects.
