The first of three Centenary Groves planted as part of Moto in the Community’s partnership with The Woodland Trust was unveiled earlier this week (November 7th) in Ffos Las, South Wales.
Jeff Parfrey, Regional Operations Director at Moto Hospitality and Jerry Langford, Woodland Trust’s Director for Wales marked the occasion by unveiling a post and plaque at the grove and Oak and Alder trees were planted by staff from Moto’s Swansea site and pupils from their adopted school Penllegaer Primary School.
The three groves (groups of trees) in England, Scotland and Wales (Langley Vale in Surrey, Dreghorn Woods near Glasgow and Ffos Las) funded by MITC are part of The Woodland Trust’s First World War Centenary Woods project, which will see millions of trees planted across the UK to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.
Moto in the Community’s contribution to the project was funded by Moto Hospitality’s income from carrier bag sales during 2016. Jeff Parfrey, Regional Operations Director at Moto Hospitality said:

I’ve really enjoyed sharing the excitement with some of our site teams and with one of our adopted local schools and wish The Woodland Trust every success with the rest of the project.
