Truckers will get a better night’s sleep thanks to an exclusive agreement between Moto Hospitality and NomadPower that means refrigerated vehicles no longer have to run noisy diesel generators to preserve their cargoes.
Nomad has supplied cheap-to-use power points – each capable of handling up to six vehicles − to five of our sites. And if the facilities prove successful we will consider rolling them out to many more.
Paul Lipton of Moto’s Commercial Department said: “One of the most frequent complaints we get from our sites is that refrigerated vehicles keep other drivers awake because they have to keep diesel generators running all night. It is far cheaper to run refrigeration units off one of the new electricity connections than it is to run on diesel and is much better for the environment. It also ensures that drivers get a good nights sleep therefore minimising the risk of driver fatigue and the consequencies that could come with it.”
The five sites currently equipped with NomadPower are: Cherwell Valley, Toddington North, Toddington South, Thurrock and Lymm.
Drivers need to create an account to use NomadPower but this is easily done by visiting www.nomadpower.eu
