We are continuing our commitment to clearing historic litter build ups from our sites in 2023 with our nationwide litter-picking campaign.
We began Litter Pick Wednesdays in 2021 in direct response to customer feedback: you told us that you weren’t happy with the amount of litter you could see at our sites, on our slip roads and around site boundaries. Our colleagues nationwide, along with our friends at GS Associates, have responded by committing to delving into site boundaries and along slip roads in a bid to clear our spaces.
In clearing our sites, we’re not only making them a safer, cleaner, more comfortable place for our customers and colleagues to relax, but we’re also supporting local wildlife too, clearing debris, rubbish and abandoned waste, cultivating a more hospitable environment for them to thrive.
So far, we’ve collected and cleared thousands of bags of litter, and that’s not all – we’ve also removed a plethora of other things, including pallets, tyres, shoes, clothes and even a TV!
We’re delighted that the feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, with lots of customers noting a marked improvement, noticing less litter at our sites. But, we acknowledge that there is still more to do as we continue to commit to clearing our spaces. We have begun to share weekly total litter bags collected from all sites during these Litter pick wednesdays.
If you visit us at Moto, there are a few things you can do to help:
- Please make use of the bins provided on site both inside and outside
- Please do not fly-tip, dump or abandon large items that you no longer require, such as flat tyres, items of clothes or broken luggage
- If you notice an area that could do with some attention from our litter heroes, please let us know as soon as you can.
We regularly post updates about our litter picking across our social media channels, so if you’d like to be in loop with where we’re picking, what we’ve found and how many bags we’ve cleared, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
