Moto is continually investing in upgrading, refurbishing and cleaning the services it
provides for HGV drivers. It’s not something we have been actively promoting as in
our view it is action we should be taking for the HGV driver community, as should all
motorway services operators. We don’t expect a gold star.

We know that some of our facilities still need updating and the comments you have
brought to us recently about showers, in particular, have not gone unnoticed.

As a result, we have relooked at our progress, checked the prioritisation we have in
place and accelerated the whole showers workstream. 50% of our existing shower
facilities will be refurbished before Easter 2022 and all of our existing shower
facilities will be updated by the end of 2022. We have set aside an additional
£500,000 pounds for cleaning.

Temporary facilities will be made available to ensure all our HGV drivers can still get
a hot shower at our sites whenever they need one. We value your custom and your
opinions and that’s why we are creating focus groups to better understand how we
can get it right for you.

Moto is investing £12.5 million in upgrading the showers and toilets at its sites. 
This programme of works forms part of a much bigger investment into our estate and
broader services we provide for the HGV community. We also have plans for further
investment across Moto sites in 2022, which will provide further benefits to HGV
drivers. These include £1 million in capital expenditure towards additional security
measures, and new HGV parking at our Tamworth, Grantham, Reading and
Donington sites. We will also be rolling out more food brands, such as Pret a Manger
and KFC, to give greater choice to our customers.
