Help for Heroes received their annual donation from Moto in the Community Trust (MITC) last week, when they were presented with a cheque for £500,000.
The charity, which became MITC’s national charity partner in 2012 has now received a total of £2.8 million from MITC’s fundraising activities bringing the overall target of £3 million well into sight.
Speaking at the Moto conference where the cheque was presented, MITC’s Chairman Brian Larkin said: “It’s thanks to generosity of our staff, customers and suppliers that we’re able to support this brilliant charity year after year and help them to support thousands of armed forces veterans. We very proud that they continue to be our national charity partner and look forward to reaching the £3 million marker soon.”
Mel Waters CEO of Help For Heroes said: ““I’m so inspired by the lengths that Moto staff go to in order to raise funds for our beneficiaries. Whenever I stop at a Moto Services I feel very proud of the support I see and the fantastic prominence you give to our brand. This exceptional donation will make a huge difference to our wounded veterans and their families. With the support of Moto staff, customers and partners we can help our nation’s heroes to recover from physical and psychological wounds and get on with their lives. I’m looking forward to another successful year of our Partnership with Moto in the Community and reaching the incredible £3 million milestone.”
