Moto staff, customers, suppliers and partners were celebrating this week as the Moto in the Community Trust reached its £5 million charity target.
Launched in 2005 the Trust was set up to benefit both national charities and the local communities in which Moto’s network of motorway services operate in.
Of that £5 million, Help for Heroes, the Trust’s national charity partner since 2012 has received £1.9 million in funding to support veterans in the armed forces, over 400 other community groups and charities have benefitted from grants and donations, and the Trust continues to support its network of 56 adopted schools across the country.
Chairman Brian Larkin said:
“We are immensely thankful to everyone who has helped us reach this amazing target from individual members of staff who took on bike rides, endurance events or organised corporate fundraisers, to suppliers who have sponsored and supported our efforts and every customer who dropped their change into one of our collection buckets. The good work of course continues and we look forward to working towards our new target of £10 million.”
