We’ve come up with a few tips to make the trip as smooth and stress-free as possible.
We recommend planning your route using our route planner and incorporating some stops into it depending on the length of your drive. The stop will allow you to easily pick up any last minute gifts, make a quick toilet break (especially for the little ones) and get some much needed fresh air. You just know that as soon as you pull onto the motorway you’re going to realise you’ve left Mum’s presents at home – it’s sod’s law!
If you’re still struggling for ideas and you’ve left it till the last minute, why not check out our M&S flower range , available at most UK Moto’s. They have a huge selection of different arrangements, in a variety of sizes and colours. You can team them up with some delicious chocolates – whose Mum doesn’t love chocolate and flowers? Whatever you do though, don’t forget the card!
Alternatively, head to Moto WHSmith and browse their selection of books. They have something for every Mum; from best selling autobiographies to exciting fiction titles. While you’re at it, you could grab a colouring book to keep the kids entertained in the back – we love the new Harry Potter ⚡️ one! Better yet, grab a pack of crayons, some scissors and some coloured paper, and get the kids to create their own cards for Mum or Grandma! This link is full of inspiring designs.
If the kids are feeling super creative, why not set them the challenge of creating something truly spectacular, either before you set off, during the journey or when you reach Mum’s house. We’ve rounded up some of the easiest DIY Mother’s Day gifts:
